Admission Requirements

The minimum age requirement at UICC is 17 years old. Students must turn 17 by the last day of their first semester to be admitted.

English Language Requirements

The language of instruction at UICC is English. Before being granted admission into a program at UICC, you must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency. This can be done by obtaining one of the results shown in the table below. Individual band scores apply.

Direct Entry

If you meet the direct entry English language requirement and meet the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will be eligible for direct entry to Foundation (UTP Stage I) or International Year One (UTP Stage II).

Integrated Entry

If you meet the integrated entry English language requirement and the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will begin Foundation (UTP Stage I) or International Year One (UTP Stage II) and will take INTG100 and two academic courses in your first term of study. This program is designed to be completed in three terms.

Students wanting to submit TOEFL scores should request the originals to be sent to UICC directly.

In addition to the IELTS and TOEFL tests, students may satisfy the University’s English language proficiency requirement in other ways as outlined on the University’s website.

Important Notes:

A credit in Grade 12 English (or the equivalent) in and of itself, is not enough to satisfy the English Language Requirements.

UICC reserves the right to require applicants with an English Language Proficiency score disparate from their academic English prerequisite achievement to present further evidence of proficiency.

Academic Entry Requirements

Entry into International Year One (UTP Stage II) generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on the program. International Year One (UTP Stage II) (Business) - Baccalaureat with average score of 12 in 4 academic subjects

Foundation (UTP Stage I) - GCE O levels with passes in 3 academic subjects or minimum grade of 3 (in 9 scale) in 3 academic subjects

International Year One (UTP Stage II) (Business) - Zambian School Certificate with 4 academic subjects with 6 or higher or GCE A Levels with D passes in 2 academic subjects.

Math Pre-requisite - Math with credit score (5/6) or GCE A/AS Math with D score

Mathematics Requirements

The completion of secondary school mathematics (or equivalent) at an acceptable level is required as a prerequisite to the International Year One (UTP Stage II) Business program. Should you be unable to meet the posted Math prerequisite, you will be required to complete additional course(s) during your studies at UICC.
